The recent earthquakes in Italy only confirmed that Riko wooden construction is earthquake-proof. All the wooden houses and public buildings that were erected in this seismically active area were left intact.
The wooden construction of Riko buildings is much more earthquake-proof than brick- or concrete-built construction because it is very resilient to pressure and traction forces and bending loads. Wood is flexible and, unlike concrete, perfectly adaptable to high pressure loads. Due to the balance between its weight and the load capacity it is also useful for facilities in areas with poor ground stability. All Riko facilities are designed and manufactured in compliance with the Eurocode 8 seismic standard.
The houses that were built in the seismic areas in Italy and Slovenia testify the high seismic safety of Riko wooden construction. Following the earthquake, all buildings remained intact.
Take a look at the buildings that have remained untouched after all the earthquakes during these past years:
- Kindergarten Stella Tetra Pak
- Kindergarten Il Paese dei colori
- Restaurant In & Out
- Restaurant Scazza
