The façade is an external layer of the building, which functions as protection of the construction units, in addition to having a decorative-visual effect. The façade protects the building from external effects, because it takes the mechanical and weather burdens, such as wind, rain, snow, frost, solar radiation, etc.

Façades are generally divided into two groups:

  1. Ventilated façades: wood, metal, stone, artificial materials
  2. Non-ventilated façades: or thin-layered plaster façades

Types of wood façades differ from each other by their shape or profile. It is possible to choose from several basic types of wooden cladding which, in combination with other types of covering (horizontal, vertical, diagonal), offer numerous implementation options.
