What is it that connects Hausing, Steinmetz de Meyer and Riko Hiše? It is primarily o sustainable orientation and fascination with wood, and the idea of constructing a wooden duplex house in the that has brought us all together. Most of all, we give credit for this to enthusiastic young men from Hausing, who had purchased the plot and entrusted their idea to the architects of Steinmetz de Meyer, after which Riko Hiše were invited to join in its realisation. With the organisation of the house’s internal spaces, the adjacent garden and the terrace, as well as with the characteristic design signature of its author, the house’s architectural design will provide its residents with a high level of residential comfort by selecting wood as the construction material and complying with up-to-date ecological and low energy standards.

In neighbouring Italy the fascination of wood is visible. Although wood is not really a part of the Italian building tradition, an increasing number of Italian investors choose wood as a sustainable building material. The investor of this apartment building in South Tyrol did not hesitate in selecting the building type: we are pleased and proud that he opted for Riko's solid wood construction system.
