The philosophy of ProstoRož is to find possibilities of revitalizing public spaces to meet the needs of the city dwellers. We at Riko Hiše have often cooperated with ProstoRož in shaping urban spaces. For the project Prostorož5, we have erectedplatforms in Ljubljana: in the Tivoli park as well as below the trees of the Križanke summer theatre. We also donated the wood for play equipment and wooden fish in the Argentina Park in Ljubljana. Furthermore, we have donated constructions of wooden slats to the Danish city of Aarhus which can be used to build stages, bars – or for deckchairs.
“We decided to cooperate with Riko Hiše because our projects have always been performed professionally, and their engagement in finding the best solutions to technical problems is simply great”, say the architects and designers united in the Prostorož group. The artistic approach of the ProstoRož group has given new impulses to the design of our living environment, and thanks to our knowledge and technical skills, we are able to implement them in urban projects. The ProstoRož group complement our work by providing different concepts, views and ideas which challenge and stimulate our creativity. This is a must for us to refine our projects and activities.
Challenging and creative
In neighbouring Italy the fascination of wood is visible. Although wood is not really a part of the Italian building tradition, an increasing number of Italian investors choose wood as a sustainable building material. The investor of this apartment building in South Tyrol did not hesitate in selecting the building type: we are pleased and proud that he opted for Riko's solid wood construction system.
