Awareness of the importance of sustainable growth has led people managing the municipality of Calcinaia in northern Italy to opt for a school built in accordance with the principles of solid wood construction. Among the many bids competing in the public tender, the bid submitted by Riko was convincing mostly due to its quality and appropriate price. The school is characterized by its warm interior and exterior, both in colours and materials as warm colours mingle in the rooms and the facade. The solid timber walls are complemented by a wooden ceiling.
