Riko modular house in Japan

Riko modular house in Japan

For this purpose, we have developed a special prototype that can be easily assembled, and is both suitable for long-distance transportation and comfortable to live in. The entire structure is built with wooden beams and girders having only three different diameters, which allows for modular floor plans. For the cladding, we have used a combination of two wood fibre boards and a thermal insulation in between.
Our quick response time and high production capacity are especially suited for solving housing problems after natural disasters: Riko Hiše can provide custom-made elements thanks to state-of-the-art equipment. The building was erected within three days, with the help of Bigbox employees, and handed over to the Murohawa fishing community. Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Japan, Mrs Helena Drnovšek, handed over the building to the Murohawa community on behalf of Slovenia and the companies Riko Hiše and Bigbox. At the handing-over ceremony, mayor Abe emphasized that this Slovenian donation will strengthen the relationship between Slovenia and Japan.
The house prototype we developed at Riko Hiše and assembled in Japan proves that modular house construction represents a promising product line and deserves being further developed by Riko Hiše. We will soon bring a sophisticated modular construction system on the market offering a range of technical solutions and blending modern design with energy efficiency. This niche product serves Riko Hiše especially in the construction of tourist accommodation and office buildings.
