In Ljubljana we have built a house combining two construction methods in a functional and aesthetic manner. The ground floor is brick-built, while the two upper floors form a composition between solid wood and framing constructions.
Wooden urban architecture
The students of architecture of the Faculty of Architecture of Ljubljana used the summer break to explore the design possibilities for habitation units. They needed to be tailor-made to the needs of young families and offer functionality and comfort at an affordable price. This burning issue was treated in an interdisciplinary workshop headed by Prof. Janez Koželj, with the cooperation of students from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
